The Skin Type Solution
I bought the “The Skin Type Solution - A Revolutionary Guide to Your Best Skin Ever by Dr. Leslie Baumann, M.D.” book couple of days ago and as it says on its cover: this is the only book you’ll ever need before you shop for skin care.
This is excellent book for everybody that has trouble finding what skin care products to use. Sometimes, even when we find a good product, we pay good price for it and we go home to apply it for the first time, things can go wrong. We don’t know why as product has all stuff that is “good for you”, all vitamins, minerals and whatnot, but for some reason it doesn’t work with our skin.
Perhaps the reason can be that we don’t know what is our skin type and we buy product that is complete opposite of what we should use. That happened to me quite a few times and I was always determined to buy a new facial cream that will do wonders on my skin. Finding “The Skin Type Solution” was the only solution that I could think of where I stop spending my money on products that don’t work on me, read this book and start buying products that are good for me.
It is never too late to start proper care of your skin. As per this book, my skin type is Oily Sensitive Pigmented Wrinkled, and although I will personally review lots of cosmetics products described on this Website, maybe reason that some of them were not good for me is that I used them before I actually read this book.
There are all other skin types that are described in this book. Oily skin can be classified as:
- Oily, Sensitive, Pigmented and Wrinkled
- Oily, Sensitive, Pigmented and Tight
- Oily, Sensitive, Non-pigmented and Wrinkled
- Oily, Sensitive, Non-pigmented and Tight
- Oily, Resistant, Pigmented and Wrinkled
- Oily, Resistant, Pigmented and Tight
- Oily, Resistant, Non-pigmented and Wrinkled
- Oily, Resistant, Non-pigmented and Tight
As we could see, Oily skin has eight different types. Same goes for Dry skin:
- Dry, Sensitive, Pigmented and Wrinkled
- Dry, Sensitive, Pigmented and Tight
- Dry, Sensitive, Non-pigmented and Wrinkled
- Dry, Sensitive, Non-pigmented and Tight
- Dry, Resistant, Pigmented and Wrinkled
- Dry, Resistant, Pigmented and Tight
- Dry, Resistant, Non-pigmented and Wrinkled
- Dry, Resistant, Non-pigmented and Tight
In chapter three of this book there is Baumann Questionnaire which is lengthy questionnaire whose sole purpose is to find out what is our skin type. There are sixteen skin types in total, and if not sure what skin type you belong to and what products should you use, this book will give you an answer. All other chapters in this book are discussing different skin types. And not only that skin types are discussed but also various products are suggested for your exact skin type starting from facial cleanser to eye cream.
This book is an ultimate guide to your skin care. Don’t miss to buy it. It is available in every bookstore or you can simply buy it on Amazon and it will be shipped to you. You can also visit Dr. Baumann Website on http://www.drbaumann.com/ where you can get more details on Dr. Baumann work and this book.
This book is widely used in both cosmetology and dermatology.
And finally, stop spending your money on skin care products you don’t need and start buying products that are good for you. Products that will help your skin breathe easily, products that will diminish your wrinkles without making the rest of your skin too oily or too dry. If you have acne, Dr. Baumann suggests what ingredients should you be using in your acne skin care.
The best of all, Dr. Baumann actually suggests name brands for skin care products, so you would know exactly what product to look for when you go shopping for your skin care. Please remember that there is no skin that can’t look good if you treat it properly. This book changed my life and my skin and I am truly happy for it. Help your skin and read “The Skin Type Solution” by Dr. Leslie Baumann.
