The Da Vinci Code

The Da Vinci Code This famous book written by Dan Brown is sixth biggest selling book of all time according to Wikipedia.org. It has been sold in sixty million copies around the world. What makes this book so different than others is that through fictional story discusses controversy in Christianity. This book offended lots of people as they were judging it by its story and truthfulness.Â

I think that lots of people were reading this book from a wrong angle. They were expecting this story to be told according to a Bible, but nowhere in the book does Dan Brown mentions that this is a true story. Some statements in this book are true, like descriptions of artwork, architecture or some secret rituals. Also, we all heard of secret societies like Opus Dei, or in this book particularly The Priory of Sion. But, this book is a work of fiction and nothing else.

It is quite mind intriguing trying to find a possible bloodline of Jesus Christ, and even though nothing can be proven, it is still amazing when I think about it.

Without actually telling the story of this book, I can honestly say that it is one of the better books I’ve read so far. Secret society and other things that are not available to us in our day to day lives fascinate all humans. We all like to watch movies that contain some mystery or action, we all seek to find out what is behind the door. Curiosity is probably what makes evolution so interesting. Without natural curiosity, there would no be a thirst for knowledge, there would be no progress in society. We all reach to the stars asking ourselves where we came from. We all go to our church asking our God Almighty how it Universe came to be.Â

We do not know the answer. We probably will never know. However, we can still ask ourselves those ultimate questions and try to find out what lies beneath. This is what makes The Da Vinci Code book so interesting. It offers another possible answer not to the ultimate question how it all started, but what happened afterwards. What happened to Jesus Christ? Does his blood line still live?Â

Of course, what is also very interesting is a description of woman in this book. We compare woman from the time of Jesus Christ, woman through Dark Ages and woman in today’s modern world. I am thinking and asking myself why in so many countries woman is still inferior in society when compared to a man? Would that be because women allowed it, they do not know any better, or ignorance is bliss? As a woman, I strongly believe we are all equal.

So, these are my thoughts about this book, The Da Vinci Code. This book awoke some questions that I’ve been asking others and myself all along. No answer of course, but still it got me thinking. Everywhere in the nature, women are more dangerous one, protecting their offspring…

I don’t want to go off the topic. What makes this book so interesting is that it opens so many doors and raises lots of questions. I read this book as a fictional story, it is a good read and highly recommended. Anybody that likes History, secret societies and religion will be delighted with this easy and interesting read.

I saw the movie, The Da Vinci Code. It is not as good as a book, as book is more detailed. Some scripts should be better in order to make a good movie from an excellent book.Â

For people that were actually looking for a description of the book in this review, I must apologize, as the actual story is not so important but rather the questions that rise in everyone’s mind after this book is read. So, if you are interested, go and read a book, I can honestly say that will be a time well spent.
